Why do we do this?

Why was this website made?

We were fed up with the idea that mainstream treatment for autism focused on therapy and neglected any underlying biological causes.

Often medicine today focuses on treating symptoms and not addressing the root cause of an issue.

However, this is not always the case. If someone has chest pain, they often get blood tests, EKG/ECG, echocardiograms and x-rays done.

If someone has abdominal pain, they often receive, imaging, ultrasounds, blood work, endoscopies/ colonoscopies to investigate an underlying cause of an issue.

Investigating root cause issues does not seem to be the standard case when diagnosing autism. How come? How do we know if the symptoms of autism are not caused by something which we have not tested for?

We don't blame healthcare professionals for this lack of testing and investigations. We understand that there are standard protocols and procedures to which they must follow.

These protocols are often decided by a recognized medical authority. These authorities often adapt slowly to changes within a particular field and in turn are not updated with new discoveries and treatments available.

This delay from new information to new protocols may take years to occur and in the meantime you and your children may suffer.

We believe by providing you with research and information you and your family can take necessary actions to help improve autism.
