Children with Autism commonly have multiple underlying health and gut issue. Addressing mulitple issues at the same time can help significantly.
One small study by two doctors Kalpana Patel and Luke Curtis included 10 children who underwent a multi-nodal approach to treating autism. This means they treated many different underlying health issues commonly found in autism.
They addressed common nutrient deficienceies found in autism such as low omega three fatty acids, vitamin A, vitamin B, minerals such as calcium magnesium zinc manganese selenium iron.
They used N-acetylcysteine to promote gluthathion production(the mother of all anti-oxidents), coenzyme Q10 to help with mitochondrial function.
They eliminated many environmental toxins and potentially harmful foods such as low/sugar-free diet, gluten-free casein free diet organic diet.
They used vitamin B 12 supplementation(methylcobalamin) and glutathone injections (seek doctors help for this).
They supported good gut health with an organic diet, probiotics, alpha lipoic acid.
They used chelations therapy using EDTA and DMPS (seek doctors help for this) to help eliminate heavy metals.
They also continued with their usual therapy sessions.
One study which addressed multiple underlying issues at once found that all 10 participating children experienced significant improvement in social interaction, concentration, writing, language, and behavior.
4 of them were able to go back to regular school from special education.
